Glam in the City

17 Jun

I would like to thank every glamour girl that came out to the Glam in the City event last night at Neiman Marcus at Mazza Gallerie. It was one of the very first Glamazon Diaries events and it was a very successful one. Aside from champagne, great nibbles and those fabulous cocktail rings Neiman Marcus gave out to each one of the guests, nothing was more satisfying than seeing the gals swoon over Manolos.

We got a sneek peek at the Manolo Blahnik pre-fall collection, which by the way, I am snagging a pair of the water snake heels in the Mary Jane heel. The pre-fall collection debuted new hues of Manolo favorites like the Campari and some new styles that gave my bank account the shakes. A black distressed leather boot with studs crisscrossing and strapped spiced up the collection. Yea summer isn’t even here yet but that doesn’t mean we can’t start slipping our feet into some fabulous shoes.

As promised, we did a drawing for a pair of Manolo Blaniks, which every single woman in there was coveting. The lucky winner of the shoes was Kristin Held, who told me it was her very first pair. I know everyone was hoping to hear their name drawn but no one walked away empty handed. Everyone snagged a goody bag with a $50 off purchase card, Yves Saint Laurent mascara and I even heard some others got Prada perfume.

This event is the first of many more over the summer and into the fall. My intent is to bring my readers and other gals and gents who love fashion together. Washingtonians’ tastes are changing and retailers are starting to recognize that. Together we will make fashion accessible to those who want it. Washington will get on the map as a fashion mecca where top end designers come to preview their resort collections. Again, thank you for all the support I’ve received over the past year. I hope to see you at the next event.
